12 Biker Shorts Outfit Ideas to Copy
I know not everyone is a fan of the biker shorts outfit, but I for one, am a HUGE fan. When biker shorts re-emerged a few years ago, I quickly ran out to find as many cute pair as I could get my hands on.
Not only is the biker short incredibly comfortable, but when styled correctly, they are extremely versatile, chic and still very on trend.
But before we talk about styling biker shorts, lets talk about how to find the right pair.
How to Find the Perfect Pair of Biker Shorts
Let me be the first to say, all biker shorts are not created equal. I’ve found some really cute ones that I instantly loved, but I’ve also tried on some that I couldn’t take off quickly enough! I think the key is figuring out HOW you will want to wear them most (specifically lengthwise), and then to think about the factors you like in a legging (pant).
Determine the Ideal Length of Biker Shorts for your Body Type
Since I am 5’3″, I have found that if the biker short is too long, it just looks way to silly on me. If I am wearing them with a really oversized t-shirt or sweatshirt, I can get away with a little bit longer of a pair. But for the most part, I look for an option that hit right around (or slightly above) the mid thigh (which happens to be a 6″ or 7″ length).
If you are taller, you might prefer a longer pair that hits closer to the knee. For me, showing more of my lower thigh helps to elongate my body. For others, the opposite might be true.
Determine what Factors you Like/Dislike in Leggings
There are so many types, lengths, materials, designs, styles of leggings on the market these days, and chances are, you’ve probably found a pair or two of full length leggings that you love.
For me personally, I love a seamless pair of high waisted leggings, with not much design (I prefer without side pockets) or extra detail going on. The Lululemon Align legging is my perfect legging for this reason. They can be expensive though, so I’ve also found a fair amount of great Lululemon dupes that you can read about here.
Lucky for me, there are also Align biker shorts and they happen to come in three different lengths. Another brand of leggings I love are the Aerie crossover leggings, which also come in biker shorts!
So when you are trying to find your perfect pair of biker short, start by looking into brands that make the leggings you already love, to see if they also make a similar biker short!
