Black. Shoes.
In terms of wardrobe, I don’t know if there is anything less exciting to me when it comes to shopping than for new black shoes. As someone who loves a statement shoe, or making a statement in general, black shoes always seem to make me feel….well…boring.
One point of clarification — the only thing worse than shopping for black ‘shoes’ is shopping for black BOOTS. AM I RIGHT? These might be the hardest thing in the world to shop for. I will never understand why finding a great pair of black boots are so hard. Do you agree or is it just me??
If you were to take a look in my closet right now, you would see a rainbow array of pumps (again, I’m a short at only 5’3″ so I live in only pumps!), organized by color & print. Stuck right in the middle like a sore thumb are only two pair of plain black pumps. One is a pair of black Christian Louboutin Piagelle pumps (that my husband bought for me as a birthday gift a few years ago – again he spoils me on my birthday) and the other is a pair of black suede Jessica Simpson pumps that have held me over for a few years now.
I really only wear the Louboutins on special occasions, and I noticed the other day that my JS pumps are starting to show some signs of wear & tear. I started to dread looking for another pair, but was quickly and pleasantly surprised when I started looking for replacements.
You see, black shoes do NOT have to be boring. You can still make a statement…as much or as little as you wish of course 🙂 I found some amazing pairs of statement black shoes from Nordstrom — it is going to be a tough decision on which pair(s) I will ultimately purchase 🙂

PS — did you know Katy Perry is now in the shoe business? Not sure when this happened but the first few pair that stuck out to me were all her brand. I might have to check them out!
