Gucci Belt Sizing Chart Guide

One of the first designer purchases I ever made was a Gucci belt.  Not only is the quality so spectacular, but they are timeless and something I can hopefully pass down to my daughter some day.  I purchased my Double G Gucci belt in 2018 here, and I remember being so nervous regarding which size to buy. Needless to say, I have learned a few things about my belt since purchasing it. I thought it would be helpful to put this Gucci Belt Sizing chart together so you can determine exactly how you will wear it and in turn, which Gucci Belt size is right for you!

How Gucci Belt Sizing is Determined

When buying a Gucci belt, the first thing you need to know is how the Gucci belt sizing is determined.  According to Gucci, the measurement for the iconic Double G belt comes from the distance between the far end of the buckle and the middle hole, as seen below.  This measurement is in centimeters.

What size Gucci Belt should I get?

When determining what Gucci Belt size to purchase, it is important to decide how you will likely wear the belt most.  If you plan to wear it on your hips (low rise), you will use one Gucci belt sizing chart.  If you plan to wear it mostly around the waist (high rise), you will use a different Gucci sizing chart which is one size smaller than your low rise size.

Gucci Belt Sizing Chart: Low Rise

To wear the Gucci belt with low-rise jeans (around the hips), you would compare the size that you wear in low-rise pants to the chart below to find the correct size.  

At the time of purchasing, I wore a size 00, so I purchased the size 70 Gucci Belt. Since then I have had another baby, so my pant size has gone up one, however, I can still wear the size 70 comfortably.  

Gucci Belt Sizing Chart: High Rise

To wear the Double G Gucci belt with high rise jeans (around the waist), you would go one size smaller than your low-rise measurements.  You can use the high rise Gucci belt sizing chart below to find the correct size.

Gucci Belt Measuring Tips

Pant size suggestions from the Gucci Belt sizing chart are based on a belt worn around your hips (low-rise jeans). Once you have measurements, refer to the low-rise chart for size comparisons if you intend to wear the belt around your hip.  If you intend to wear the belt around your waist (high-rise), reference the high-rise chart above (which is one size smaller than the low-rise chart).

If you are between sizes, it is recommended to size up one size.  

Double G Gucci Belt Size Options

The iconic Double G Gucci Belt comes in multiple width sizes.  The skinny version width is .8″ whereas the wide belt is 1.5″ in width (pictured in this article).  The wider belt is intended to be worn around the hips, so while you should refer to the low-rise Gucci Belt size chart for this, you can also wear it around the waist, you would just need to adjust the sizing accordingly. 

When I was shopping for my first Gucci Belt, I decided to go with the wide version, because I like how prominent it is and I planned to mostly wear it with jeans.  If I were intending to wear it mostly around the waist with dresses, I probably would have opted to purchase the skinnier version of the Gucci GG belt. However, I do sometimes wear my wide Gucci Belt around my waist with dresses or oversized sweaters, and while the holes don’t work in this scenario, I loop it through a self-made knot to secure it in place!

I love styling outfits that include both my Gucci belt and a Gucci bag; it just feels cohesive and right!  I also don’t mind mixing designers, so have no shame wearing my Gucci belt with a YSL purse.  

Where to Buy a Gucci Belt

If you’re anything like me, you have a few go-to retailers and might be wondering, can I buy a Gucci Belt at Nordstrom? While you can purchase many Gucci items at Nordstrom such as Gucci makeup, Gucci jewelry, and Gucci shoes, at this time you cannot buy a Gucci Belt at Nordstrom.

When purchasing a Gucci Belt, it is best to think about how you will mostly wear the belt. Will you wear it around your hips or around your waist more? Based on this answer, you can then take measurements and refer to the appropriate Gucci Belt sizing chart above to determine the best size belt for you (there is a size chart for low-rise and high-rise). Remember, if between sizes, it is recommended to go up one size. 

While a Gucci belt can be a splurge, you can truly wear them so many ways, which made me feel better about my decision to purchase one.  From casual outfits to christmas party outfits, the options are endless!
