Welcome to the inaugural Rosey Kate Trend Series post! Each year during Fashion Week, we get a preview into the biggest trends we should expect for the upcoming seasons. Some of them are no brainers and others have people scratching their heads wondering ‘who in the world would wear that, and to where?’. Not to mention, who can afford to shop all of these designer trends without having to live on Ramen Noodles while simultaneously racking up credit card debt?
Luckily for us, these trends always make their way down the chain to the everyday retailers, online boutiques, and local Target stores. By now, you’ve hopefully noticed that I try to curate affordable (while still adorable) on-trend items to keep your wallet full and your style on point. And yes, sometimes I do splurge sometimes on some items…ahem belt…but the majority of my closet is very much affordable 🙂
I decided to kick off a trend series to dive into all things trendy, straight off the runways to help you navigate which trends to try and which to let slip by. Rhyming is fun!
Without further ado, lets jump into the first Fall/Winter ’18 trend: Plaid!
What comes to mind to your mind when you think about plaid? I don’t know about you, but I instantly picture Cher (Herowitz, not “of Sonny and..”) in her iconic yellow plaid skirt suit and OTK boots (so ahead of her time).
My immediate next thought is, Hello Holidays! There is something so nostalgic about a the print that instantly takes me to my childhood of plaid stockings hanging from the mantle, embroidered with our names. Plaid scarves, plaid throws; there is no print more festive this time of year!
